Peeling Back the Masks

I watch people, putting on a show every single day,

Faces masked with stories, like they're starring in a play.

Why's honesty such a rare sight, always on the run?

Been searching for truth, but it's like chasing the sun.

Longing for a glimpse of realness, to ease my troubled mind,

But sincerity seems like a rare Pokémon, super hard to find.

Folks strut around in their personas like it's a fashion show,

While truth plays hide and seek, putting on quite the glow.

Evil's out here flexing, while goodness takes a backseat ride,

Oh, humanity, your theatrics could win an Oscar worldwide.

No matter how tight you cling to your false narrative,

Truth sneaks up, like a prankster, making you feel so derivative.

Gotta let out a laugh, a snicker, and a snort,

Oh, life's circus, where everyone's trying to sort,

Lost in the fun fair of pleasures, reality's way out of view,

Ignoring the obvious, oh what a comical debut.

Thinking they're invincible, but the punchline's on them, no doubt,

In the end, it's all about the deeds, not the masquerade route.

Wake up before regret hits, knocking on your door,

God sees through the show, like an X-ray to the core.

Speak truth, just once, drop the act, it's time to shine bright,

Stop hoarding riches while others struggle, that's just not right.
